Style Highlights From November’s Art Fundraisers

A guest at Buddies in Bad Times’ ArtAttack! event peruses the auction offerings.

Last month saw a lot of art events happening across the province, and the attendees at two local soirées stood out to me as being incredibly well dressed guests.

Art Metropole’s second Lucky Draw Fundraiser + Party attracted a gang that knew the power of a perfect accessory and intriguing details. AM’s Curator of Programs & Distribution Manager, Dallas Fellini, wore Dries Van Noten’s eye-print shirting with a pair of excellent trousers – loved the proportion. The artist Robert Anthony O'Halloran had on a checked suit with a tie-neck shirt, and Alana Trificante, the Executive Director of Gallery 44, sported a skirt with cool crochet elements. Tanner Kidd, founder of the referral-based art tour community The Next Path, wore a fun suit by Maràvic Collection; very plaid Pierrot.

At ArtAttack!, the fundraiser for Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, the team did not disappoint! Its Artistic Director Ted Witzel stunned in a phenomenal corset by Project Runway competitor Curtis Matysek with GmbH. I caught another crochet moment care of artist and Buddie’s hosting lead Sebastian Urmom’s zesty dress, and loved Danny Sylvan’s scarf gesture with a boldly printed shirt. And for the second year in a row, I couldn’t take my eyes off of artist and auction presenter Mars Alexander. They wore the evening’s more exquisite ensemble of all-black and velvet.
